2021 CROP HUNGER WALK
Saturday, October 23 @ 10 a.m.
Since Ortonville is doing a virtual walk again this year, we’ve decided to take our team to Independence Oaks North to walk their trail and boardwalk together, in order to help create awareness of this crisis and raise funds to combat it. Everyone in the community who doesn’t want to walk alone is invited to join us. LEARN MORE.
LOCAL MISSION PARTNERS
LOVE INC (In The Name of Christ)
To help our neighbors who are struggling with all kinds of financial needs─from paying their mortgage, rent or utilities, to having a needed car or home repair done, to simply needing help to purchase gasoline and medications─we partner locally with Love INC of North Oakland County. As a church, we not only provide financial support for Love INC and their clients, but individually we also support their Clothes Closet, household and personal care ministries, by individually donating new and gently used clothing, household goods, and personal care items. For those who feel called to serve their community in a more hands-on way, there are also opportunities to volunteer in their Clearinghouse Call Center and their ministries. See Love INC for more information.
OCEF (Ortonville Community Emergency Fund)
To help fight hunger in our area, we collect non-perishable food items throughout the year to support the OCEF Pantry’s weekly distribution. We also take up special collections in the fall for their “Back To School” distribution, as well as during the holidays, to help provide special food baskets for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. OCEF offers volunteer opportunities as well. See OCEF for more information.
