PASTOR TODD JONES
“I have two main goals in life: to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and to lead as many other people as I can to do the same thing.”
Pastor Todd grew up as a preacher’s kid in the Nazarene denomination, living in New England as a child and in Ohio as a teen. “I really can’t remember a time when I didn’t believe in God. I gave my life to the Lord at summer camp the summer before 2nd grade,” said Pastor Todd. But what cemented hia faith was being the recipient of one of God’s miracles when he was in the 5th grade. “I had a genetic hearing loss, complete in one ear and about 50% in the other. But rather than accept the doctor’s diagnosis, my dad asked more than a thousand pastors to pray for me. Then on a Wednesday night, he, with the church leaders, anointed my ears and asked for God’s healing. Nothing happened that night but when I woke up the next day, my hearing was restored.”
Since high schoo, Pastor Todd has been in some type of pastoral ministry. Over the years, he has ministered through music in a traveling teen choir, a college quartet, a Christian contemporary band, and as a music minister. He was also on staff at various churches as a youth pastor, a children’s pastor, an assimilation and outreach pastor, and now as a senior pastor. Besides being in ministry, he was a music teacher/band/choir director, and technology teacher.
Since July of 2021, he and his wife, Cheryl, have called Seymour Lake home. “My number one ministry is to be husband to Cheryl and dad/stepdad to our kids: Kevin (Utah), Charles (Michigan), Austin and his wife Josephine and their daughter Maranda (Michigan), and Brady (Ohio). My daughter Caitlyn passed away when she was 17.”
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, a Ministry Preparation Program Certification from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO, and a Master of Divinity degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.
